The traditional stone bridges of Grevena are the largest and most impressive in all of Macedonia. In 1995, following action by the Prefecture of Grevena, the bridges were declared to be national monuments.
Their style is generally the same with the exceptions of the bridge at the bottom of Nidrouzi mountain, between the villages of Alatopetra and Prosvoro which has uniform sized stones symmetrically placed. Also the bridge of Aziz-Agha has the largest arch of all the stone bridges in Macedonia, it was built in 1727 with a length of 70 meters and a height of 15 meters.
The Spanos bridge was a very important communication point, connecting Epirus and Macedonia. With a length of 84 meters. and a height of 10m. It is the longest in the county.
Another impressive bridge, Portitsa, can be found at the foot of the gorge, close to some caves, it is a very popular tourist place.
